Eluned David
Eluned David is a member of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She moved down to Dorset from London to take up this position in 1996, only two months after completing a degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Eluned started working professionally even before she finished her studies, working with such prestigious orchestras as English Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
Eluned played as Principal Second Violin in many orchestras while living in London, including the Guildhall Orchestras, and also the National Musician’s Symphony Orchestra. She filled the same role for the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
Chamber Music has always been a high priority for Eluned who prefers to work with smaller ensembles. She was a founder member of the Theodore String Quartet, as well as the MacDonald Piano Trio. She was regularly invited to work with the Pegasus String Quartet, and also the Hill String Quartet. Eluned’s passion for chamber music started at an early age when she was constantly invited to join baroque chamber courses under the direction of Mark Knight, and also appeared as a soloist playing Bach in a series of Baroque Masterclasses.
Eluned made her concerto debut at the age of 14, in a performance of the Vivaldi Concerto for Four Violins. Her solo career continued with many recitals in London and Wales, and has also performed the Mozart Violin Concerto in G major.
Having won a much sought after music scholarship to Wells Cathedral School, Eluned formed a piano trio, and was a finalist in the National Festival of Music for Youth.
